"As I came back from our last Council meeting, I realized I had found my Neverland. That last council meeting was something I never felt before. Right then and there, I realized that I had stepped out of my comfort zone and made friends for life." Jessica (PA)

Mason Leadership Caps are the spin-off camps of the National Student Leadership Camps (NSLCs) run by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). With their blessing, we have resumed their Lake Tahoe Leadership Camp, and we are in our third year. We plan to continue the tradition.
Utilizing accomplished, qualified, inspirational staff members, and improved curriculum, Lake Tahoe National Leadership Camp 2008 will move and propel students unalike ever before. Brick-by-brick we are recreating the Tahoe Magic so that future generations may experience the life-changing week that thousands of others have experienced since 1955.

Taken at sunset from the lodge, this view shows the setting on another wonderful day in at Mason Leadership Camps. |
For 55 years, National Student Leadership Camps (NSLCs) have impacted and changed the lives of high school student leaders. From Lake Tahoe, Nevada to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; from Florida to the Maritime Academy, Maine, NSLCs taught students leadership skills such as communication, teamwork, and acceptance while providing an all-around unforgettable experience. Unfortunately, the NSLCs' funding was cut and the camps were cancelled, effective Fall 2006.
To remedy this disappointing decision, a group of impassioned alumni, staff, and students banded together to recreate the NSLCs. Under the name Mason Leadership Camps , this group has resurrected the Lake Tahoe Camps, beginning with the inaugural camp in 2006. This group plans to resurrect other camps in the future and grow into a flourishing student leadership training organization in the future.
The mission of the organization is to develop student leaders who better the world and grow Mason Camps into a flourishing student leadership training organization in the future. .
